John Nonnenmacher

John G. Nonnenmacher, 84, passed peacefully on March 22, 2022.  Born September 23, 1937 to Agnes and Ferdinand Nonnenmacher of Honesdale, Pennsylvania, he was one of nine children.

After graduating from Honesdale Catholic High School, John enlisted in the US Air Force and served four years.  When discharged, he moved to New Jersey and started his 37 years with State Farm Insurance in Wayne, NJ as Data Processing Manager.

It was at State Farm that he met the love of his life, Katherine Belli, whom he married in 1962.  They moved to Stockholm, NJ and raised their two children.  John volunteered with the Hardyston First Aid Squad and was active in the local Boy Scouts.  He liked to tend to his lawn, go hunting and ice skate like a pro on the frozen lake with his kids.

Upon retirement, John moved to Manahawkin, NJ.  There, John was a member of the Manahawkin Elks, and for many years he enjoyed his boat, fishing, traveling and happy hours with neighbors and family.

John was a kind, quiet man who loved his family above all else.  He was predeceased by sister Marie Coligan and brother Bernard Nonnenmacher.  John is survived by his wife, Kathy of 59 years, son Keith Nonnenmacher, daughter Lisa Patchell and son-in-law Bob Patchell, his two grandchildren, Conner O’Brien and Abigail Patchell, his sisters Theresa Nonnenmacher, Pauline Theobald (Jack), Helene Niekrewicz (Frankie), Rita Young, brothers Clarence and Eugene Nonnenmacher, and brother-in-law Richard Belli (Jane) as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews.
