Arminia "Amy" F. (Bocchino) Starr

Arminia “Amy” F. Starr, age 89, of Manahawkin, NJ passed away on Friday, July 28, 2023 at Ocean University Medical Center of Brick, NJ. 

Born June 10, 1934 in Somerville, NJ, she lived in Branchburg, NJ prior to Manahawkin where she resided since 1993. Arminia served the church as a Eucharistic Minister, she was a member of the St. Mary’s Adult Church Group, a vocalist with the St. Francis of Assisi Church choir, Brant Beach, LBI, a 20-year member of the Italian American Club of Stafford, Manahawkin, she volunteered and cared for patients at Southern Ocean Medical Center, Manahawkin, and participated in many local clothing drives and food banks. She enjoyed her trips to Aruba and her hobbies of bingo, playing cards, going to shows, movies, dinners, and shopping. She was a loving mother, sister, grandmother and aunt.

She is predeceased by her parents, Herman and Fannie (Russo) Bocchino, her husband, Frank Starr, and her two sisters, Irene Lamberti and Eleanor Mattei.

Arminia is survived by her four children, Donna Balicki, Theresa and Les Niece, Frank Richard Starr and Athena Demergis, and Kathleen and Stanley Luszik, her sister, Angelina Glenn, her brother, John Bocchino, her seven grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and many loving nieces and nephews.

Visiting hours will be Monday, July 31, 2023 from 4pm to 7pm at Maxwell-Tobie Funeral Home, 573 Mill Creek Road, Manahawkin, NJ 08050. Her Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 12:00 pm on Tuesday, August 1 at St. Mary Of The Pines Church, 100 Bishop Way, Manahawkin, NJ. Entombment will follow at Ocean County Memorial Park, Waretown, NJ.
